Trisha Dant, Ph.D
Trisha Dant, PhD, will help grow the breadth and depth of research in the Science Departments in the College of Arts and Sciences. Trisha grew up along the east coast and received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biological Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Pursuing her passion for science and research, Trisha received her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) where her dissertation research was on T cell pathogenesis in Acute Graft-versus-Host Disease. After graduation, she completed a fellowship in UNC’s Office of Technology Commercialization and managed intellectual property-related agreements and conceptualized commercialization strategies for faculty. During her fellowship she realized her passion for research administration and accepted a position as Associate Director of the School of Medicine Office of Research at UNC. Trisha has held this position from 2018 to 2024 and was responsible for initiatives to strategically grow the research enterprise of the UNC School of Medicine.
Trisha joined UVA in January of 2025 and works remotely from South Florida (she recently relocated here in May of 2024 so her husband could pursue a faculty appointment at Florida Atlantic University). In her free time, Trisha enjoys chasing her 3-year-old son, traveling, drinking too much coffee, and exploring the Everglades and other environments. Please reach out to her anytime!
