The Managers run Arts & Sciences Scholarship Practice Arts Research Creativity (SPARC) Grants competitions twice per year. The next deadline is March 13, 2026. There are two categories of SPARC Grants: Research Grants and Special Project Grants.

SPARC Research Grants enable faculty to extend their research, scholarship, or creativity in a new or additional direction, accelerate productivity, and amplify the impact of their work.
SPARC Research grants may be individual or collaborative. Faculty in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences divisions can apply for individual SPARC Research Grants with awards up to $20,000 for individuals and $30,000 for teams over a period of one year. Faculty in the Sciences division can apply for SPARC Research Grants with awards up to $50,000 for individuals and up to $75,000 for teams over a period of one year.
SPARC Special Projects Grants support activities to disseminate findings outside of conventional academic means.
Supported projects must have an exceptional impact on the field and society. Awards are up to $10,000 for a period of 1 year.
Center-Scale Planning Grants allow time and resources for faculty to plan and submit major center-scale proposals.
