The Managers run Arts & Sciences Seed Funding and Planning Grant competitions with deadlines that occur twice per year.

SEED GRANTS enable faculty to obtain pilot data to secure external funding for research or creative activities.

Faculty in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences divisions can apply for Seed Grants with awards up to $20,000 for individual and team awards. The purpose of this funding is to facilitate activities that result in grant proposal submission; collaborations are encouraged. Calls for proposals will be issued twice per year, and a committee of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.

Faculty in the Sciences division can apply for Seed Grants with awards up to $50,000 for one year. The goal of this seed funding is to enable collection of preliminary data for the submission of grant proposals; collaborative proposals are encouraged. Calls for proposals will be issued twice per year, and a committee of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.

PLANNING GRANTS allow time and resources for planning center-scale projects that will be competitive for extramural funding.

Faculty across all divisions can apply for Planning Grants up to $75,000 to support for the development of larger, center-scale grant proposals. Calls for proposals will be issued twice per year, and a standing committee of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.
