SEED GRANTS enable faculty to obtain pilot data to secure external funding for research or creative activities.
Faculty in the Arts & Humanities and Social Sciences divisions can apply for Seed Grants with awards up to $20,000, for individual and team awards. This funding is to facilitate activities expected to result in grant proposal submission; collaborations are encouraged. Calls for proposals will be issued annually, and a group of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.
Faculty in the Sciences division can apply for Seed Grants with awards up to $50,000 for one year. The goal of this seed funding is to enable collection of preliminary data for the submission of grant proposals; collaborative proposals are encouraged. Calls for proposals will be issued annually, and a group of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.
PLANNING GRANTS allow time and resources for planning of institutional scale projects that will be competitive for extramural funding.
Faculty across all divisions can apply for Planning Grant with potentially greater awards to support for the development of larger, center-style grant proposals. Calls for proposals will be issued annually, and a standing group of faculty will review and make recommendations for awards.
